Box Score San Antonio - Trinity first-year forward Ashlyn Milton has played in only two women's basketball games in her college career, and she is already making her mark with the team and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).
Milton was selected as the first SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week this season, following her performances at last weekend's Together Tiger Invitational. Trinity opened its home schedule with a 74-55 victory over eighth-ranked George Fox (OR) University, and then was edged 71-68 by #9 University of St. Thomas (MN).
Over the two games, Milton came off the bench and scored 28 points, shot 62.5% from the field, and 60% from three-point range. Milton paced the game with George Fox by firing in 18 points on 7-11 shooting from the field and 4-6 beyond the arc. She chipped in 10 points against St. Thomas, hitting 3-5 of her shots from the field and 2-4 three-pointers.
Trinity (1-1) will host Hardin-Simmons (TX) University at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
