Box Score Blanco, Texas - The Trinity women's golf team shot a second-round 343 Tuesday and finished in second place at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Tigers posted a two-round score of 680 at the par-72 Vaaler Creek Golf Club, and led third-place Schreiner (TX) University by 25 strokes.
Three Trinity golfers placed in the top 10 to earn All-SCAC honors for the 2019 season.
First-year Raquel Hill finished in fifth place to earn First Team All-SCAC honors, shooting a final-round 83 for a 168 total to lead the Tigers. Hill rose from a #10 tournament start and finished just four strokes from the third-place competitor.
Emilee Strausburg received All-SCAC Second Team recognition for the second year in a row with an eighth-place finish, coming up from the #11 slot. Strausburg shot an 84 today for a tournament 170, just two strokes from making the All-SCAC First Team.
Sarah Buss made the All-SCAC Second Team with a 172 total and a 10th-place finish, aided by her team-best opening-round score of 82. Buss tied for second place in tournament birdies with four on her card.
Delaney Kelley shot 176 for a #12 finish, and missed All-SCAC Second Team honors by just two strokes. Kelley tied Buss for second place in birdies with four to her credit.
Mabel Fowler finished in a tie for 16th place in her SCAC Tournament debut, bettering her first-round score by nine strokes with today's 86 that gave her a 181 total.
