Box Score San Antonio – Trinity's 13th-ranked women's basketball team closed out the regular season schedule with an 84-62 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Schreiner (TX) University on Saturday.
GAME SUMMARY
The Tigers jumped out to a 12-4 run to start the game and led 20-11 after one quarter of action. That lead was up as high as 15 points midway through the second quarter, but Schreiner was able to trim that down to just 10 (37-27) by halftime.
After the break, Trinity had its best scoring quarter of the night with 26 points. Schreiner also had a good quarter, though, scoring 21 points of its own to keep the game within reach. At one point in the third, Schreiner used a 9-2 run to pull within six points (41-47) with 4:41 left in the quarter. The Tigers answered by scoring 11 of the next 13 and the lead was up to 63-48 heading into the final period.
With an 8-2 run to start the fourth, Schreiner was back within nine points, but Trinity surged ahead with a run of its own to make it a 76-60 game with just 4:21 remaining. The Tigers allowed just six points over the final 7:37 of the game to seal the win.
HIGHLIGHTS
Trinity finishes the regular season on a seven-game winning streak that puts the team at 22-3 overall and 17-1 in SCAC play. Schreiner falls to 12-14 and 10-8 with the loss.
Abby Holland connected on 10-17 from the field to lead the team with 22 points on the night. She also had five rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals in the win.
Emily Daniel scored 10 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to help the Tigers finish off the victory. She hit 3-7 from three-point range and added five rebounds.
Ashlyn Milton and Hailey Coleman both came off the bench to score in double figures. Milton scored 11 points in the game, while Coleman had 10 points to go with a team-leading six rebounds.
Jordan Rudd had another well-balanced game, scoring 10 points to go with team-highs with both seven assists and six steals.

The Tigers will be the top seed at next weekend's SCAC Tournament, which is hosted by Schreiner in Kerrville, Texas. Official brackets and schedules will be announced by the SCAC Office early next week.
