Box Score San Antonio - The 13th-ranked Trinity women's basketball team will be the top-seeded squad for the fifth consecutive year at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Basketball Tournament Friday through Sunday at Schreiner (TX) University in Kerrville, Texas.
Led by eighth-year Head Coach Cameron Hill, the Tigers also clinched the conference regular-season title. Trinity (22-3, 17-1 SCAC) finished the regular season slate on a seven-game winning streak.
The Tigers received a first-round bye in the six-team event and will open the tournament in the Semifinals at 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Trinity's opponent will be the winner of the fourth-seeded host Schreiner and #5 Texas Lutheran University.
Second-seeded Austin (TX) College meets the winner of #3 Colorado College and sixth-seeded Southwestern (TX) University in Saturday's Semifinals.
The championship game will be played at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. At stake is an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Playoffs, which open March 6-7.
Coach Hill's teams have captured the SCAC Tournament title four times during his tenure. The first trophy was garnered in 2013, and the Tigers won the championship three consecutive years from 2016-2018. Host Texas Lutheran edged Trinity in last year's title game at Seguin, Texas.
