Box Score SAN ANTONIO - The No. 23 Tigers went up the road to take on Division I opponent University of Texas at San Antonio who just recently clinched a playoff berth in the Conference USA. Trinity falls to (12-2-1, 6-1-0 SCAC) after losing to UTSA on the road by a score of 6-0. The Roadrunners improve to (9-4-3, 3-2-2 CUSA) with one match remaining in their regular season.
The Roadrunners struck first with a goal in the 16th minute of the match after spending a lot of time in the attacking zone where they put up three shots that were off target. A few minutes later, UTSA drew a foul about 30 yards out. The Roadrunners capitalized on the great field position and scored on the free-kick to go up 2-0 in the first half. Still controlling possession in the attacking zone, UTSA added another goal to go up 3-0.
In the 24th minute, the Tigers were awarded their first corner-kick of the match. Sophomore Kyra Stafford (Albuquerque, N.M. / Hope Christian) took the corner and delivered a great ball into the box where senior Camryn Beall (Morrison, Colo. / Colorado Academy) headed a ball that just went over the crossbar.
Shortly after, UTSA added another goal to extend their lead to 4-0. In the 41st minute, Trinity earned their second corner-kick of the match. Sophomore Isabel Makulski (Houston, Texas / St. Agnes Academy) put up a shot that was blocked by a UTSA defender.
UTSA scored two more goals in the 55th and 57th minute of the match to take a 6-0 lead. In the 65th minute of the match Makulski took another corner and put in a great ball that Beall put her head to but the Roadrunners keeper made a big save. TU ultimately fell 6-0 on the road in their final regular season match of the season.
