Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity University Volleyball was unanimously predicted as the 2020-21 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Wednesday by the head coaches around the league. The program earned its preseason vantage point on the heels of the 2019 NCAA Tournament run to the national semifinal, its 24th tournament appearance in team history.
The Tigers received a total of 81 points, along with all nine first-place votes from across the SCAC, followed by Colorado College (71 points), Southwestern University (60 points) and Austin College (52 points).
Head Coach Julie Jenkins enters her 36th season leading the Tigers with defending SCAC Player of the Year senior outside hitter Avery Tuggle (Cedar Creek, Texas / Cedar Creek) in tow, along with a pair of additional 2019 All-SCAC first-teamers in senior outside hitter Annie Rose Leggett (Austin, Texas / Westwood) and junior middle blocker Emily Ellis (Georgetown, Texas / Georgetown).
Trinity opens the 2020-21 slate Saturday as it pays a visit to Austin College to open the SCAC-only slate. The doubleheader begins at 10 a.m. at the Hughey Gymnasium in Sherman, Texas.
