Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity University Volleyball senior outside hitter Annie Rose Leggett (Austin, Texas / Westwood) took home the first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award for the 2020-21 season, the league office announced Monday.
Leggett powered the Tiger offense with 28 evenly-split kills and a .404 attack percentage across Saturday's doubleheader at Austin College. The senior's firepower pushed Trinity to a pair of victories in the opening weekend of the 2021 spring slate, the first in four sets before sweeping the 'Roos in the afternoon rematch.
In the Tigers' second match from Sherman, Texas, Leggett posted a career-high .600 hitting clip for matches in which she logged at least eight attacks, the second-highest mark of her career overall.
The 2019 AVCA All-Region selection added a pair of double-digit performances in digs to produce her first double-doubles of the season, along with a pair of blocks, in a well-rounded effort on the road.
Monday's announcement marked the second time the 2019 All-SCAC First-Team honoree earned the conference's offensive weekly award in her Trinity career, third overall between the offensive and defensive laurels.
Trinity Volleyball is expected to host Southwestern University this weekend for more SCAC competition, with the first match scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.
