LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity University Women's Golf first-year Kiona Hsiu (Missouri City, Texas / Elkins) and Director of Golf, Head Women's Golf Coach Carla Spenkoch earned Women's Golf Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year honors, respectively, from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference per the league's announcement on Friday.

Hsiu opened her Trinity career with a trio of top-three finishes in 2021, the Alamo City Classic, the SCAC Preview and SCAC Championship all without an individual finish outside the top ten.

In her 23rd campaign at the reigns, Coach Spenkoch returned the Tigers to the SCAC Championship in 2021 for the first time since back-to-back league titles in 2016 and 2017 for the fifth conference championship in program history.

Hsiu was joined by three other Trinity golfers on the women's All-SCAC list after the SCAC Championship in April: junior Raquel Hill (Canyon Lake, Texas / Smithson Valley), and first-years Caterina Mora Adrover (Portocolom, Spain / IES Felantix) and Erin Flynn (League City, Texas / Clear Falls).
