Box Score SAN ANTONIO - The No. 8 Trinity University Women's Soccer team steamrolled the Schreiner University Mountaineers in a 9-0 win at The Paul. The Tigers improve to (12-0-1, 8-0-0 SCAC) while Schreiner falls to (3-6-2, 1-3-2 SCAC). Earlier in the season, Trinity defeated the Mountaineers 1-0 on a last-second goal but tonight's win is no surprise as the Tigers have been on fire lately.
Sophomore forward Michaela Bosco (Weatherford, Texas / Weatherford) scored three goals in the first 25 minutes of the match then added another second-half goal to set a new career singe match high. Senior forward Molly Sheridan (St. Louis, Mo. / Kirkwood) recorded two goals on the night and added two assists.
The Rundown
Sheridan took the first shot of the night but it was saved by the Schreiner keeper. A few minutes later, junior defender Kyra Stafford (Albuquerque, N.M / Hope Christian) took a corner kick and found the foot of Bosco in the box for the first goal of the match.
In the 10th minute, sophomore midfielder Taylor Campbell (Edinburg, Texas / Robert Vela) assisted Sheridan to give Trinity a 2-0 lead. Trinity wasted no time scoring their third goal of the evening as Sheridan found Bosco for her second goal of the match. Just 25 minutes into the match, Bosco scored her third goal of the night thanks to a nice lead pass from senior defender Bailey Meyer (Southlake, TX / Carroll) to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead.
The Tigers took 16 shots in the first half with eight of those being on frame while holding Schreiner to no first-half shots. Just two minutes after the second half started, first-year forward Hanna Khan (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) assisted Sheridan to extend the Tiger lead to 5-0.
In the 51st minute, Stafford and sophomore midfielder Maya Ozymy (Dallas, Texas / Coppell) assisted Bosco's fourth goal of the night to make the score 6-0. Just moments later, Khan decided to join the goal party and add a goal of her own to push the Trinity lead to seven. With just over eight minutes to go, senior midfielder Bella Ferruzzi found junior forward Emily Hayes (Allen, TX / Allen) for her second goal of the season. Just one minute later, Trinity set a new season high for goals scored in a match with nine. First-year defender Clara Richards (Buffalo, NY / Williamsville South) assisted sophomore midfielder Hannah Johnstone (Joliet, IL / Minooka) for her first career goal.
