Trinity University Women's Soccer heads into their second week of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play after taking wins against the University of Dallas and Austin College.
Â
The Tigers were dominant in both wins on the weekend. The Tigers will take a 2-0 win against Dallas and then explode for a 6-0 win against Austin College. The Tigers had a defensive battle early in the game against Dallas, with no goals scored in the first half. Then, the Tigers opened up the second half with a goal from
Michaela Bosco (Weatherford, Texas / Weatherford), who ripped a shot from just outside the box. The Tigers weren't done there. Sophomore
Erin Heath (Lake Jackson, Texas / Homeschool) took another long-distance shot that found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. The Tigers were a wall defensively, only allowing ONE total shot in the entire game. The next match would be just as dominant for the Tigers, as
Taylor Campbell (Edinburg, Texas / Robert Vela) found fifth-year
Bailey Meyer (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) for the first goal of the game. That wouldn't be Meyer's only goal of the game, as she also found the back of the net in the second half as well.
Hanna Khan (Southlake, Texas / Southlake Carroll) and
Maya Ozymy (Dallas, Texas / Coppell) would add a goal to their totals. For the second game in a row, Heath would score. For the first goal of her career,
Kayla Boven (Katy, Texas / Tompkins) would find the back of the net.Â

SCAC Player of the Week - Bailey Meyer, Defensive
Â
For the second week in a row, fifth-year defender
Bailey Meyer has been selected as the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week.Â
Â
Meyer led the Tiger to two shutout victories over both Dallas and Austin College. Meyer and the Tiger defense held their opponents to two combined shots over the 180 minutes on the field, and ZERO shots on goal. Meyer also helped offensively by adding two goals in the win over Austin College. Her two goals scored is a career-high for a single game as well.

Â
On the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs: The Bulldogs have a 6-3-3 (2-0 SCAC) record in 2023. The Bulldogs have defeated Centenary and St. Thomas in SCAC play so far.
