Box Score KERRVILLE - No. 19 Tiger Men's Soccer continues Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play with a 3-1 victory over Schreiner on Saturday afternoon.
The Rundown
The Tiger defense was shaky to start the match, allowing Schreiner to score the opening goal just 12 minutes into the game. However, that lead wouldn't be held long with
Louie Instrall (London, England / Hampton School) found the right foot of
Michael Meese to tie up the match at 1-1. The scoring wouldn't stop though, as Instrall wanted to add another assist to his list when he found
Pieter Blank (The Hague, The Netherlands / Dalton Voorburg) for a banger goal to give the Tigers the lead. The Tigers would end the half up 2-1.
The Tigers would put the dagger in the match just 13 minutes into the second half. The Tigers would find
Joseph Kuri (San Antonio, Texas / TMI Episcopal) streaking down the field and Kuri would put the moves on multiple Schreiner defenders. Kuri would put a slick pass to the feet of
Chen Adjei (Euless, Texas / Trinity) who would put the ball past the outstretched hands of the Schreiner keeper. As the Tigers took a 3-1 lead, it was time for the Tiger defense to show their stuff. The Tigers would hold Schreiner to just two shots on goal, and keeper
Austin Wilman (Esher, England / Charterhouse School) would save both. As the clock ticked down to zero, the Tigers would win the match 3-1.
The Tigers would out shoot the Mountaineers 18-6 and would lead in corner kicks 11-1. Willmann would nab three saves in the match.
