SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University Women's Tennis collected a strong win over NCAA II Dallas Baptist University this afternoon at the
Butch Newman Tennis Center.
The Tigers (6-2) got right to it with a sweep of all three doubles matches against the Patriots. Playing in line two, junior
Cate Cushing (Colleyville, Texas / Heritage) and first-year
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy) finished 8-4, securing the first win of the day. The sophomore duo of
Olivia Kim (Phoenix, Ariz. / Desert Mountain) and
Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) added on a second victory with a score of 8-5.
Junior
Ellie Hughes (Austin, Texas / Vandergrift) and sophomore
Brooke Belitz (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Notre Dame) fought back in a nail-biter of a match to close out Trinity's doubles sweep with an 8-6 comeback win.
The Tigers went on to win four of their six singles matches to secure their overall 7-2 win. Kim posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory for the team's first singles win of the day. Cushing followed suit with another two-set defeat of the Patriots after grabbing an 8-6 first set tie-breaker, and clenched the win for Trinity.
Hill and Levy tacked on two more singles victories from lines one and three, respectively, giving the Tigers their final 7-2 score.

th. After their match against the Maroons, the Tigers will spend their weekend in Virginia to play in the University of Mary Washington Blue-Grey Invite.
