After Schreiner tied the game 2-2 in the fifth inning of game two, Trinity edged in front on a run-scoring double off the bat of
Ty Preston (Pearland, Texas / Pearland). The Mountaineers loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth, but
Jack Martinez (Corpus Christi, Texas / Ray) got a strikeout on a 3-2 pitch to finish the game.

The Rundown, Game 1
Trinity got on the board in the bottom of the second, as
Hunter Nevilles (Corpus Christi, Texas / Calallen) singled with one out in the inning and advanced to second on an error. Montrezza drove him in two batters later for the 1-0 Tiger lead.
Peterson singled and stole second with one out in the third to set up Pettit for an RBI single and a 2-0 lead for Trinity. Schreiner cut the lead in half with a run in the fourth, though Teer struck out the final two batters of the inning to keep Trinity in front.
Cristian Holloway (Brownsville, Texas / Veterans Memorial) doubled to open the fifth inning and eventually the Tigers loaded the bases with just one out. Preston drove in two with a double down the right field line for a 4-1 lead. Davison came up three batters later with two outs and the bases loaded again, driving in two more runs with a single to center to make it a 6-1 game.
Schreiner got just one hit over the final three innings of Teer's outing and Davison drove in
Colt Harris (Katy, Texas / Houston Christian) to give his pitcher a 7-1 cushion after seven innings.
Gore singled and Peterson walked with out in the eighth, then two wild pitches brought in another run. Preston drove in the final insurance run with two outs in the inning to push the lead to 9-1 heading into the final inning.
Schmitt allowed a walk in the ninth, but otherwise had no trouble finishing off the win.
The Rundown, Game 2
Trinity loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the first and Montrezza plated a pair of runs to get the scoring started early.
Durow struck out two batters in the first and pitched around two singles in the second with a double play to keep the Tigers' 2-0 lead.
Both teams stranded runners after that, but neither team threatened again until the fifth. A Trinity throwing error in that pivotal fifth inning was followed by three straight Schreiner hits that were capped by a game-tying double. After a walk chased Durow from the game, Martinez got out of the inning after just two pitches.
Gore started the bottom of the inning with an infield single, then Baker picked up a hit to put runners at the corners. After a fielder's choice led to the first out of the inning, Preston hit a deep double to the gap in left-center to bring in a run and put the Tigers up 3-2. Schreiner managed to get a pair of strikeouts to shut down any further problems and the lead remained just one.
Martinez retired 10 of the first 12 batters he faced, striking out the side in the seventh and allowing a walk and a hit-batter during that stretch. He got the first two batters in the ninth, but an error kept the inning going. Martinez then hit the next two batters to prompt a mound visit from the Trinity dugout as the bases were loaded, and the tying run was just 90 feet away. Martinez then went to a full count on the next batter before getting a called strike three to end the game.
