No .14 Trinity University Men's Soccer (4-0-2) saw two games come to a draw this week after ties against Hardin-Simmons University and University of the Incarnate Word. For their efforts, Tiger Men's Soccer has been ranked 14th by the United Soccer Coaches.
Â
The Tigers had offensive prowess this week, scoring goals in every match. The Tigers did not get an early start in their match against Hardin-Simmons, with no goals scored in the first half. However, the Tigers decided to change their mindset in the second half when junior
Hunter Cain (Katy, Texas / Cinco Ranch) found the back of the net in the 70th minute. Just when the Cowboys thought the Tigers were done, sophomore
Adam Knutson (Dripping Springs, Texas / Dripping Springs) found the back of the net for his team-leading fourth goal of the year.Â
Â
The Tigers were then matched up against the NCAA I Incarnate Word Cardinals, which would be a great test for the Tigers. The Tigers were on the board early when junior
Will Powell (Bexley, Kent / Beth Grammar School) had a beautiful cross from 30 yards out to set up
Chen Adjei (Euless, Texas / Trinity) for a fantastic header that found the back of the net. The Tigers had a hard-fought game, with eight of the eleven starters playing all 90 minutes. This wasn't the first time these two clubs have had this type of match, the Tigers and Cardinals had a similar match when they had a 0-0 tie in their 2009 matchup.Â
