Box Score SAN ANTONIO - Trinity University Women's Soccer had a hard-fought match when they took a 1-0 loss against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders on Monday night.
The first half of the match was a defensive battle. The Tigers took the first shot on goal just twelve minutes into the match, but the goalkeeper made an immaculate save to block the Tiger shot. The Tigers would outmatch the Crusaders on corner kicks 5-2. In the middle of first half, the Crusaders would score a goal to make the score 1-0. The Tigers would go on to take five more shots in the half, but none would end up being on goal.
The second half would start out just like the first, with a ton of defense. The Tigers and Crusaders would trade possession over and over. The Tigers would have their best opportunity to tie the match when
Kyra Stafford (Albuquerque, New Mexico / Hope Christian) sent in a beautiful cross pass into
Abby Schneider (Albuquerque, New Mexico / Bosque School) who had beaten all defenders and put a great shot on goal, but the Crusader goalkeeper made a great diving save to keep the score 1-0. The Tigers would take a total of 17 shots, 7 of them being on goal.
