GEORGETOWN, Texas – The 18th-ranked Tiger volleyball team finished off the regular season with a pair of 3-0 sweeps in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play against McMurry University (TX) and Centenary College (LA) on Saturday.
Trinity finishes the year with a 21-6 overall record and a 14-1 mark in conference play, extending its winning streak to 12 matches heading into next weekend's SCAC Tournament. The Tigers won 25-17, 25-13, and 25-12 against McMurry to start the day's action, then finished with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-19 win over Centenary, and had 16 players appear in each matchup.
Maddie Fate (New York, N.Y. / Croton Harmon) led the team with 11 kills and four blocks in the match against McMurry, posting a hitting percentage of .647 after a zero-error match.
Courtney Pope (New Braunfels, Texas / Canyon) finished with nine kills and three blocks to keep pace with her teammate.
Jenna Rodriguez (San Antonio, Texas / Antonian) finished with a team-leading 17 digs, with
Reagan Whatley (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands) picking up 13 of her own as the only other Tiger in double figures.
Kendall DeRivel (Westlake Village, Calif. / Viewpoint) led the team with 19 assists and four service aces, with Rodriguez also tying for the team lead in aces.
Jozie Dhayer (Houston, Texas / Summer Creek) added 14 assists of her own in the opening match.
Angelica Medina (Houston, Texas / Summer Creek) paced a spread-out offense with seven kills against the Ladies, finishing with a .333 hitting percentage.
Mackenzie Logan (Calgary, Canada / Bishop Carroll) had five kills in just eight swings (.625 hitting percentage), pushing her day's total to 12 kills. DeRivel nearly equaled her total from earlier in the day, finishing with 18 assists and three aces in the weekend finale. DeRivel also tied with
Cassidy MacLean (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands) and
Brynn Bishop (Indianola, Iowa / Indianola) with a team-best seven digs for all three players.
Lauren McCarthy (Corrales, N.M. / Horizon) posted five blocks in the match to lead the Tigers.

The Tigers finished first in the SCAC Gold Division and will be the top overall seed at next weekend's SCAC Tournament. Trinity will face Schreiner University (TX) at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 15, in the Quarterfinal match. That match will be at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. The majority of the tournament will be in Sherman, Texas, and hosted by Austin College.
