SHREVEPORT - No. 10 Tiger Men's Basketball falls in the semi-final round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
Â
The Tigers (23-3) took a narrow 70-71 loss to Colorado College. Freshman
Christian Green (San Antonio, Texas / Veterans Memorial) made his mark on the tournament by notching a double-double. Green would score 18 points and collect 15 rebounds, 10 of those being offensive.
Dean Balo (Dallas, Texas / JJ Pearce) would be on fire, going 6-7 from the field and putting up 16 total points.Â

The Rundown
Â
Jacob Millhouse (Plano, Texas / Independence) got the afternoon started for the Tigers with an easy layup of a sweet pass from
Jacob Harvey (Huffman, Texas / Hargrave). Early on, Harvey would sling a pass through the defense to find Green for an early statement slam. From there, offense would be a rarity as neither team would hit double-digits until the 13-minute mark. Colorado kept it close in the first half and then hit a three with nine minutes left to take their first lead of the game 13-12. The Tigers nabbed a four-point lead off of a big three but CC would respond by hitting one of their own. The game stayed locked at 20-19 for two minutes until Colorado went on a 9-4 scoring run to close the half and Trinity would be down 28-24 heading into the locker room.Â
Â
Colorado opened the second half with back-to-back buckets to extend the lead to eight. Trinity would hit big shots throughout the half but the Colorado lead would hit double-digits with 15 minutes remaining. Two minutes later, Green started a seven-point run for the Tigers that closed the gap back to a one-possession game. The game stayed close and Colorado found the touch offensively to nab a nine-point lead. With the game nearing an end, Trinity locked in. Brown found the rim and then hit a deep three from the wing to tie the game up at 62. CC made their best move with a layup and a heavily contested three to go up five. Unfortunately, the Tigers could not tie the game back up and fell 71-70.
