UNIVERSITY PARK, TEXAS - No. 7 Tiger Men's Tennis wins their 14th consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Evening battling the weather and having to move indoors, the Tigers bounced Southwestern 5-3 in the championship round. This is the ninth consecutive year that the Pirates have met the Tigers in the final match, and Trinity has prevailed every time. This will be the 14th SCAC title under Head Coach
Russell McMindes. Trinity improves to 16-7 while Southwestern falls to 16-8. The Tigers have earned an automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA III Men's Tennis Playoffs.

Trinity got off to an early lead after going 2-1 in doubles play.
Jared Perry and
Ethan Flores (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) beat Southwestern's #1 doubles 8-7, winning 7-2 in the tiebreaker.
Dalton Locke (Humble, Texas / Kingwood) and
Rob Chang (Aiea, Hawaii / 'Iolani School) fought hard but fell in #2 doubles 6-8. However, in #3 doubles,
Aashish Dhanani (Austin, Texas / Westwood) and
Conor Kaczmarczyk (Aurora, Colorado / Regis Jesuit) avenged their teammates by taking the victory 8-5.

In singles, Dhanani started it off by dominating #5 singles, winning both sets 6-1.
Ivan Nikolovski (Alpine, New Jersey / Dwight Global) was defeated in #6 singles by scores of 1-6 and 3-6. Chang got the Tigers back on track by winning #2 singles 6-4 and 6-2. Flores was narrowly defeated by Southwestern's #4 singles player, dropping both sets 4-6. With the championship in their grasp, Perry won it for Trinity during #1 singles. Perry dropped set one 7-5, but stormed back in sets two and three, winning them both 6-2. Tigers win the 'ship!
