The Rundown
Trinity started with a huge 21-14 lead in set 1. After an attack error by the Gulls late in the first, Trinity saw themselves just one point away from a set victory. However, Endicott went on a 9-1 run to comeback and win set one 27-25.
Endicott had a 10-6 lead in the second set but the Tigers battled back and closed the gap to just 1. Fate sent a ball to the floor and tied it all at 16. Another back and forth battle saw the Gulls come out on top in set two 25-23.
After dropping the first two sets, Trinity came out hot, going up 8-3.
Marissa Drange (Boerne, Texas / Champion) to give the Tigers the biggest lead of the set at 7. Endicott sent a serve out and Trinity was ready to take advantage. DeRivel stepped onto the service line and laced a ball into the seam for an ace. Logan put in back to back kills, then the Tigers sent an attack back where it came from to go up 20-13. A few points later,
Kathryn Detweiler (Goshen, Indiana / Goshen) roped a ball to the floor, Trinity wins set three 25-16.
Set four was much of the same for Trinity, going up 11-7. Despite Endicott tying the set, Trinity went on a 6-4 run capped off by a kill by Drange to take a 21-19 lead. Logan got a kill and Dhayer took a page from Mackenzie's book and hit a ball that scraped the back line for a kill. TU finished off the set with a block and took set four 25-21.
