Trinity Men's Soccer is back at the Paul to host Whitworth University and Berry College.
The Tigers (0-0-2) began their 2024 season with two draws, playing to ties against Hendrix and Methodist. Adam Knutson (Dripping Springs, Texas) scored twice over the weekend, while Will Powell (Bexley, Kent / Beth Grammar School) recorded his first assist of the season. The Tigers are currently ranked in the top 50 nationally for corner kicks per game (7.50) and will aim to take advantage of these opportunities this weekend.
Preview - Back At The Paul
Trinity will play against Whitworth University on Friday, September 6th at 7:30 PM and then be back on the field against Berry College on Sunday, September 8th at 1:30 PM.
On the Whitworth Pirates: Whitworth has had a strong start to the season with a 2-0 record, scoring five goals in their first two matches. They defeated Providence (Mont.) 3-1 and Carroll (Mont.) 2-1. Junior forward Cole Friesen leads the Pirates with three goals, while senior midfielder Clayton Crockett has been pivotal, assisting on three of the team's five goals. The last encounter between these teams saw Trinity win 3-0. Trinity's all-time record against Whitworth is 1-1.
On the Berry Vikings: Berry has started their season with a 0-1-1 record. They lost 1-2 to Maryville in their opener and drew 3-3 with Hardin-Simmons in their second match. Despite their offensive capabilities, the Vikings have struggled defensively, allowing three goals from just six shots against Hardin-Simmons. Forward Dylan Bloch leads Berry with two goals and an assist. This will be the first ever match between Trinity and Berry.

Cal Lutheran and Howard Payne will be in town to take on the Tigers on September 13th and 15th.
