Trinity University Men's Basketball gears up for consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) games at home this weekend.

The Tigers (8-3) finished their New Year's week games with a 2-1 record. After a narrow loss to Schreiner on New Year's Eve, Trinity rebounded with two blowout victories, including a revenge win over Schreiner.
Christian Green (San Antonio, Texas / Veterans Memorial) led the way with 61 points across the three games, shooting an efficient 50% from the field. In the first game against Schreiner,
Rob Conrad (Cedar Creek, Texas / Cedar Creek) set a career-high with 19 points. In the second game,
Carter Ruck (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) achieved his career-high, scoring 12 points on 4-8 shooting, including 3-6 from beyond the arc. As a team, the Tigers shot an impressive 49% from the field and were on fire from three-point range, hitting 43.5%. Defensively, they limited opponents to just 27% shooting from deep and averaged 13.3 steals per game.
Zach Fenn (Covington, Louisiana / Saint Paul's) stands out nationally, ranking 13th in steals per game (3.18) and 14th in total steals (35).

Preview - SCAC Weekend

The Tigers will continue their SCAC campaign at home starting with McMurry on Friday, January 10th, night at 7:30 PM. After a day of rest, Trinity will be back in Calgaard against Concordia Sunday, January 12th at 2:00 PM.Â

On the McMurry Warhawks: The Warhawks have faced challenges this season, holding a 2-7 record. Their two victories came against LeTourneau and Howard Payne. Notably, four of McMurry's seven losses have been decided by three points or less. The Warhawks feature four players averaging double-digit points per game, led by senior guard Kino Thompson, who averages 16.6 points per game while shooting over 50% from both the field and beyond the arc. The last meeting between these two teams was in November 2022, when the Tigers defeated the Warhawks 91-85, extending their all-time record to 3-1.

On the Concordia Tornadoes: This season, the Tornadoes hold a 3-6 record. They started with a decent 3-3 record but have since lost their last three games, each by more than 10 points. CTX has struggled with three-point shooting, converting just 29% of their attempts from beyond the arc. Guard Donovan Stafford is averaging 13.6 points per game this season. Meanwhile, junior Caleb Golden, despite playing in only three games, is averaging an impressive 19.7 points per game, including a standout 30-point performance against Hardin-Simmons. In last year's matchup, the Tigers defeated the Tornadoes 91-84. Historically, Trinity leads the all-time series against Concordia 6-4.
