No. 10 Tiger Volleyball Heads Back to Georgia For a Trio of Matches

The Trinity Tigers (14-3) continue their 8 game winning streak and undefeated conference record. The team heads back to Georgia to play Emory, Berry, and Oglethorpe.
 
AVCA Poll- Tigers at 10
The Tigers continue climbing up the American Volleyball Coaches Poll and landed at #10 this week. La Verne continues to occupy the #1 spot followed by East Texas Baptist at #2. Wisconsin- Oshkosh, Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Juniata round out the top 5. 
 
Preview- Emory Showdown and SAA Doubleheader
The Tigers will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to first take on the Emory Eagles. They will play at Woodruff PE Center Arena on Friday, October 17th at 5 PM. Then, the Tigers will head North to Rome, Georgia for their Berry matchup, Saturday at 1 PM. The team will close out the weekend back in Atlanta on Sunday at 10:30 AM at Oglethorpe University.
 
On the #9 Emory Eagles:
The last time the Eagles and Tigers faced off was at the 2024 Regional Finals on Emory's home court. The Eagles ended the Tiger's playoff run with a win in 4 sets. This season, the Eagles are off to a strong start and ranked #9 according to the AVCA poll. They boast a 13-3 overall record, with one of their losses coming from conference opponent, Berry. Senior Outside Hitter Kate LaRocco, leads the Eagles in kills (171), fueled by setter Olivia Rabinowitz with 400 assists. 
 
On the #14 Berry Vikings:
The Vikings are ranked #14 in this week's AVCA poll. They are 17-3 overall, with one of their losses coming from Trinity in their first meeting sweep, on Trinity's home court. Berry will be looking to defend their home court in their second matchup. Berry is currently #2 in the SAA and on a three-game winning streak. Senior Outside Hitter Madie Whitehead leads the team in kills (248) followed by Keira Kruk (198). Junior Libero Andrea Hurt, has an impressive 302 digs on the season. 
 
On the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels
The Stormy Petrels are 6-16 on the season, and have yet to win a conference game (0-9). They have had close losses in the SAA against Millsaps College, where they lost in both meetings in 5 sets. The Stormy Petrels are led by Junior Right Side, Camdyn George in kills with 152. Not far behind, Senior Outside Hitter Ashlynn Stephens has 146 kills on the season. Oglethorpe is hoping to turn their season around to make it into the conference tournament, which they will host in November.
 
Looking Ahead
 The Tigers will head to Georgetown to take on Southwestern on October 24th.
