No 12. Trinity Men's golf and No. 16 Trinity Women's golf will compete in the Carla Spenkoch Invitational at their home course, The Quarry Golf Course. 
 
Last Time 
 
The Tiger Men placed 17th in the NCAA Division III Fall Preview in Howie-in-the-Hills, FL. Andre Follmer (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis) shot one over for three rounds and finished in 18th place in a very competitive field. Follmer had 9 birdies throughout the tournament and had three consistent rounds. Carter Code (Calgary, Alberta, Canada / Manning) was 11 over for the three days, with a solid last round with 4 birdies and an eagle. 
 
The Tiger Women placed 9th at the NCAA Preview in Palm Desert, CA. Jessica Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) shot even for the two rounds and placed 11th in a very strong field. Mason had 6 birdies over the two days and stayed consistent. Lauren Huddleston (Anthem, Ariz. / Boulder Creek) shot 8 over and finished in 35th. Huddleston had 4 birdies over the course of the tournament and provided key rounds the team needed. Naaz Mehta (Newton Pa. / Council Rock North) was 11 over for the tournament, and she provided a solid round on the last day for the team. 
 
SAA Women's Golf Athlete of the Week- Jessica Mason
 
Mason earned Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Athlete of the Week for her great performance at the NCAA Preview.

Mason led the 18th-ranked Trinity women's golf team to a ninth-place finish at the NCAA D-III Preview at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California over the weekend. Mason tied for 11th individually with three other players after shooting an even-par score of 144 (72-72) for the weekend.

Scouting the Course: The Quarry Golf Course is in San Antonio, Texas, is continually rated the best course in San Antonio and was recently renovated in 2024. The greens were enhanced with Tiff 3D ultra dwarf bermudagrass and the layout of a few holes was tweaked. This par 71 course tips out at 6,740 yards and provides a nice challenge for players. No. 18 is a tough par 5 with a narrow tee shot and requires a very precise second shot between hazards on both the left and right. Hole 4 is a short par 4 with water on the right requiring a precise tee shot, but provides a good birdie opportunity. No. 12 is a demanding par 3 with a firm and narrow green where club selection is key.

Both the Men and Women Tigers will be heading to the Golfweek October Classic in Destin, FL on Sunday, October 12 through Tuesday, October 14.
