No. 10 Tiger Volleyball Takes On More SAA Opponents

The Trinity Tigers (17-4) continue conference play versus Rhodes College and Millsaps College. The Tigers will play in Memphis on Friday and then head North to Jaskson, Mississippi to play Millsaps. 
 
AVCA Poll- Tigers at 10
The Tigers dropped one spot this week in the American Volleyball Coaches Poll at#10. There was no movement in the top 5 which is as follows: La Verne, East Texas Baptist, Wisconsin- Oshkosh, Wisconsin- Eau Claire, and Juniata. Conference opponent Berry is #14 and Southwestern received votes. 
 
Preview-  SAA Doubleheader
The Tigers will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to first take on the Rhodes Lynx on Friday, October 31st at 5:30 PM. Then, the Tigers will head North to Jackson, Mississippi to play Millsaps Majors, Saturday at 11 AM. 
 
On Rhodes College:
The first time these two teams met, the Tigers won in a dominant fashion 3-0. The Lynx are 10-16 overall. They are 4-8 in Conference play and 6th in the conference. Freshman Outside Hitter Caroline Short, leads the Eagles in kills (279), closely followed by her counterpart Yzzi Dsamou (267). The team is fueled by setter Emma Clarke with 427 assists. 
 
On Millsaps College:
The Majors are 15-14 overall, and 3-9 in SAA play. Millsaps came out ready to play in their first meeting against the Tigers, taking the first set. Then, the Tigers fought back, winning the next 3. Libero Sandy Bourgeois holds down the fort defensively for the Majors with 448 digs on the season. Senior Middle Blocker Ally Baer defends the net with 62 blocks and she also leads the team in kills with 300. 
 
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will return for their final home weekend. They will play Southwestern on Friday for Parent's night and Hardin- Simmons on Saturday for Senior Night.
