SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - No. 12 Tiger Men's Golf in second after the first day of the
Carla Spenkoch Invitational.
The Tigers posted a seven-over total (286–289) on the day, trailing only LeTourneau for the lead. LeTourneau holds first place with a four-under team score (282–282). St. Thomas, Dallas, and Millsaps are all tied for third at +21, while Redlands sits sixth at +36 (299–305). Texas Lutheran rounds out the field at +83 (330–321).
Carter Code (Calgary, Canada / Manning) leads the field after going five-under (69–68) through 36 holes. Code recorded six birdies and just one bogey, while pacing all players with 29 pars on the day. His second-round 68 was only one stroke off his career low.
Sam Rossi (Los Angeles, California / Loyola) is tied for fifth after finishing one-under (71–70). Rossi shot even-par with five birdies in the opening round, then carried that momentum into round two with a 70 that included four birdies and an eagle.
Jeffrey Forster (Santa Barbara, California / San Marcos) sits in 20th place at six-over (74–74) with two birdies, while
Andre Follmer (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis) follows in 24th after carding seven-over (72–77).
Neel Sandhu (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) is tied for 26th at nine-over (74–77), highlighted by three birdies and an even-par back nine in his opening round. Rossi's nine birdies tie him for third most in the tournament.
Individually,
Ethan Sullivan (Norfolk, Massachusetts / King Philip) had an excellent day, finishing one-under (73–68) to share fifth place. Sullivan leads the entire field with 11 birdies and ranks first on par 3s at three-under.
Samuel Walker (Aurora, Colorado / Regis Jesuit) shot even-par (71–71) and is tied for eighth. Walker went two-under (33) on the front nine in both rounds, tallying seven birdies there and nine overall, also tied for third most so far.
Brody Grieb (Bend, Oregon / Summit) joins Walker in a tie for eighth after posting even-par across both rounds. Grieb opened with a 69, matching his career low from 2023, before shooting 73 (+2) in round two, turning in four birdies and an eagle.
Aiden Marlow (San Antonio, Texas / Churchill) stands in 13th place at three-over (70–74). He matched his career-low 70 in round one with four birdies, then added two more birdies in his second round.
Barret Wisener (Dallas, Texas / Sachse) is tied for 26th at nine-over (74–77) with four birdies, and
Alex Place (San Antonio, Texas / Roosevelt) sits 28th at ten-over (74–78), carding three birdies in his first round while posting a career-low 74.
