WACO, Texas – Senior offensive lineman
Caleb Bayer (Grandview, Texas / Grandview) has been named a First Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association for his play during the 2025 season.
Bayer, who earned the first All-American honors of his career, led the Tiger football team to a 10-2 overall record and advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA Playoffs for the first time since 2002. It was the fourth time in the last five years that Trinity has won 10 or more games, and the Tigers have advanced to the postseason five consecutive times.
Bayer is a four-time All-Southern Athletic Association honoree, earning first Team honors each of the past three seasons. He was named Second Team All-Region in 2023 and Third Team All-Region in 2024, picking up First Team All-Region accolades this year. Prior to the start of the 2025 season, Bayer was nominated to the AFCA Goodworks Team and to the National Football Foundation Campbell Trophy. He has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2023 and 2024, while also earning a spot on the SAA Academic Honor Roll each of the last three years.
Bayer is the eighth Trinity football player to earn First Team AFCA All-American honors, including the third in the last four years to make the exclusive team. Bayer is the 56th Tiger football in school history to earn All-America honors, dating back to the 1948 season. Trinity has had at least one All-American each of the last six seasons.
