GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – No. 14 Trinity Women's Tennis Dominates with Back-to-Back 7-0 Wins
The No. 14 Trinity Tigers (3-0) continued their strong start to the season with a pair of 7-0 shutout victories over Concordia and Austin College. With these wins, Concordia's record falls to 2-1, while Austin College drops to 0-1. This marks the second consecutive year that Trinity has started the season 3-0.
Against Concordia, the doubles matches began with
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, California / Weil Tennis Academy) and
Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) falling 6-0 on line one. However, their teammates
Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) and
Lauren Tin (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) responded with a dominant 6-0 victory on line three.
Ellie Hughes (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) and
Olivia Kim (Phoenix, Arizona / Desert Mountain) then secured the doubles point for Trinity with a 6-4 win on line two.
In singles play, Hill dominated at line one with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Andrade followed suit with an identical 6-0, 6-1 win on line five. Kim and Hughes also secured victories, with Kim winning 6-1, 6-3 at line two and Hughes taking a 6-2, 6-1 win at line three. Levy added to the team's success with a 6-3, 6-1 win on line four, and
Sam Miller (Georgetown, Texas / Georgetown) sealed the 7-0 shutout with a 6-3, 6-1 win on line six.
Against Austin College, the Tigers displayed complete dominance.
Lucy Nabedrick (Plymouth, Minnesota / Wayzata) and
Brooke Belitz (Scottsdale, Arizona / Notre Dame Prep) won 6-0 at line one in doubles. On line two,
Katie Schmidt (Prairie Village, Kansas / Shawnee Mission East) and
Sam Miller also secured a shutout victory. In line three,
Allison Vo (Sugar Land, Texas / Elkins) and
Alesandra Ceccarelli (Johannesburg, South Africa / ES American School BCN) claimed a 6-2 win in.
In singles, Schmidt was the first to finish, sweeping line three with a 6-0, 6-0 victory to put the Tigers up 2-0. Nabedrick followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win at line one, and Belitz clinched the overall match win with another flawless 6-0, 6-0 sweep at line five. Miller closed out line four with a 6-1, 6-2 win, Vo secured a 6-3, 6-1 victory at line two, and Ceccarelli completed the shutout with a 6-1, 6-2 win at line six.
