WHITNEY, Texas – The #12 Trinity men's golf team is in second place after the first round of the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference hosted at the White Bluff Resort.
The Tigers trail the University of St Thomas who sit in first place after day one. Trinity finished the day 27-over which was 11 shots off the lead. The University of Dallas are in third at 33-over while McMurry University and Schreiner University are three shots behind and tied for fourth.
Leading the way for the Tigers is junior
Carter Code (Calgary, Canada / Manning), who sits one shot off the lead with a two-over score of 74. Code started the tournament in style with two birdies on the front nine, taking the early lead with a score of 34. A couple of consecutive bogeys slowed him down slightly on the back nine but he remains within touching distance of the lead going into day two.
Neel Sandhu (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) is one shot behind in third place after shooting a plus-three 75. Sandhu also impressed early on, coming in at even-par through the front nine before two birdies and a triple bogey on the final three holes of the day left him two shots off the lead.
Sam Rossi (Los Angeles, Calif. / Loyola) is in 21st place after shooting ten-over through the first 18 holes. He made par on six of the last seven holes, finishing the day strongly.
Jacob Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) sits two shots behind Rossi in 30th with a first day score of 84 while
Jeffrey Forster (Santa Barbra, Calif. / San Marcos) is in 34th after shooting 13-over on the first day.
