HOWIE-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Trinity University men's golf team finished its opening round at the 2026 NCAA Championships on Tuesday, shooting a team score of 295 (+11) at the par-71 course at the Mission Inn Resort.
The first round was not fully completed due to lightning and weather-related conditions in the area. Just over half of the teams were able to complete 18 holes today. The Tigers are currently tied for 29th, though that placement is likely to be higher after all teams complete their round. The first round will be completed tomorrow morning, with round two scheduled to begin in the afternoon. The top 18 teams after Wednesday's round will advance to the final two rounds of play on Thursday and Friday. The top six individuals not on those 18 teams will also advance to the competition for the individual championship.
Aiden Marlow (San Antonio, Texas / Churchill) leads the way for Trinity after round one, following his even-par score of 71 on Tuesday. Marlow carded 16 pars on the day and scored a birdie on 13 to bring him to even, tying for 28th individually.
Carter Code (Calgary, Canada / Manning) finished with a one-over 72 in the opening round, shooting nine pars to play the front even. He birdied holes 13 and 15 to get under-par for the day, but a double bogey on 18 pushed him back to plus-one.
Sam Rossi (Los Angeles, Calif. / Loyola) and
Jeffrey Forster (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) both shot five-over 76, while
Ethan Sullivan (Norfolk, Mass. / King Philip) was just one shot back with a first-round 77. Rossi led the team with four birdies in the round, though Sullivan picked up the first birdie of the day on hole one.
