#25 Men's Tennis Beaten on the Road by #3 Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio– The No. 25 Trinity Tigers (10-9) faced a tough challenge on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 6-1 to No. 3 Denison University in a competitive matchup held at Mitchell Fieldhouse.

In doubles play, Trinity came out strong at the top as the duo of Jared Perry (Tucson, Arizona / Catalina Foothills) and Kishan Kersten (Plano, Texas / West) earned the Tigers' lone doubles victory with a 6-3 win at line one. However, Denison responded with dominant performances at lines two and three. Eric Liao (Taipei, Taiwan / Boca Prep (Fla.)) and Aashish Dhanani (Austin, Texas / Westwood) fell 6-3 on court two, while the pairing of Conor Kaczmarczyk (Aurora, Colo. / Regis Jesuit) and Ethan Ruppanner (Amarillo, Texas / Tascosa) dropped their match 6-2 at line three.

The Big Red carried that momentum into singles play. At line one, Perry dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision, while Ryan Warren (Keller, Texas / Connections Academy) fell 6-3, 6-4 at line two. Kersten battled hard at line three but came up short, 6-2, 6-3. Dhanani lost 6-3, 6-3 at line four. Trinity's lone singles win came at line five from Liao, who rebounded after dropping the first set 6-3 to take the second 6-4. He clinched the match in a tightly contested third-set super tiebreaker, 10-8. At line six, Roshin Kamath (League City, Texas / Clear Springs) started strong with a 6-2 opening set win but ultimately fell in a tight three-set battle, 2-6, 7-5, 10-4.
