WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The 17th-ranked Trinity University women's golf team was one of just a handful of teams able to complete the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships on Tuesday, as the field spent nearly five hours in a rain delay at the Kingsmill Resort.
The Tigers are 28th in the current standings after shooting a combined score of 326 today, which was fourth among the 10 teams able to finish all 18 holes. Trinity trails #13 Randolph-Macon College (VA) and #15 University of Redlands (CA) by seven shots, with #15 Denison University (OH) leading the schools that finished with a score of 318.
All-Americans
Jessica Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) and
Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino (Marbella, Spain / Atalaya) finished the day as the top two Tiger scorers. Mason shot a six-over 78 to start the tournament, carding a pair of birdies, and finishing strong by shooting plus-one on the final nine holes. The Tigers started on #10 for today's round and Sanchez De la Fuente Molino was just two-over after the first nine, finishing the day with a team-best three birdies.
Carmen Kennett (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) finished with an opening-round score of 83 but led the team with an even-par 37 on the front nine (her final nine holes). She had both of her day's birdies on the front, posting red numbers on holes one and nine.
Kate Schulle (Cedar Park, Texas / Cedar Park) shot 86 to open the tournament, while
Lauren Huddleston (Anthem, Ariz. / Boulder Creek) finished with an 89.

The Tigers will return to action for round two on Wednesday, though the exact time will be determined after the completion of round one. There are 24 teams with varying numbers of holes remaining to finalize the opening round, then the entire field will reset for round two mid-morning.
