SUWANEE, Ga. – Trinity University had three individuals earn top Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors this week as Head Women's Golf Coach
Shelby DeVore was named the SCAC Coach of the Year, with women's golf All-American
Jessica Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) and men's golf All-Region performer
Sam Rossi (Los Angeles, CA / Loyola) both receiving awards as well.
Mason notched her second straight SCAC Women's Golfer of the Year award since joining the Tigers last spring. She is now a three-time Women's Golf Coaches Assocation All-American after picking up her second consecutive Second Team honors in 2025, adding to her First Team All-America honors as a first-year golfer at Pomona-Pitzer in 2023. Mason finished second at this year's SCAC Championships and then finished 12th individually at the NCAA Championships in May. She has led Trinity to two SCAC Championships in her time with the Tigers and has earned back-to-back All-SCAC recognition by finishing second each year. Trinity has now won four consecutive – and six overall – SCAC Player of the Year awards, with Mason being the first Tiger to win more than once.
Rossi was named the SCAC Men's Golf Freshman of the Year after landing Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-Region and Honorable Mention All-SCAC accolades in his rookie season. He is the third Tiger in the last five years to win the Freshman of the Year award from the SCAC, joining teammates
Neel Sandhu (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) and
Giorgio Gianoulis (Salt Lake City, Utah / Rowland Hall). Rossi finished the season with an average of 74.52 across 21 rounds of play, winning the Space City Classic medalist honors to start the spring season, and notching two top-five finishes on the year.
Coach DeVore has won four straight SCAC Coach of the Year awards in as many seasons and has taken the team to the NCAA Championships each of her first four years as well. She led Trinity to its fifth consecutive SCAC Championship in 2025 (the fourth under her direction), winning by 47 strokes in the wire-to-wire victory. The fifth straight title is tied for the conference record and the nine overall championships are the most in SCAC history. Coach DeVore's four SCAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year awards tie her for the most in school history, equaling the number of her former coach and predecessor in previous Trinity Head Coach
Carla Spenkoch.
