MINNEAPOLIS – Trinity University football player
Johnathan Nwobodo (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) has been named a 2025 Preseason All-American by D3football.com.
Nwobodo and the Tigers are receiving votes in the preseason national polls released by D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association ahead of the 2025 season that begins in September. Trinity finished the season with an 8-3 overall record that included a 6-1 mark in the Southern Athletic Association and resulted in a fourth straight SAA title and fourth consecutive berth in the NCAA Playoffs.
Nwobodo was a First Team All-SAA and Second Team All-Region (D3football.com) player last year, leading the Tigers with 8.5 sacks and 15.0 tackles for loss. Trinity's defense held five opponents to 14 points or less last season, rattling off six straight wins to close the regular season and share the conference championship.

Jerheme Urban, Trinity will begin its season at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas, on Thursday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers host Belhaven University (MS) in the home opener on Saturday, September 13, at 6:00 p.m. The SAA schedule begins on Saturday, October 4, kicking off against Southwestern University (TX) at 1:00 p.m.
