After a successful weekend for the Tigers and a 3-1 win against Texas Lutheran University on their home turf, with a 4-0 win against Concordia, they will be back on the road this upcoming Saturday. This match will be the final test for the Tigers before conference play kicks off.
Preview - Final Test for the Tigers Before Conference Play
Trinity will once again be on the road, traveling to Belton, TX, for a non-conference showdown with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders. This will mark the Tigers' final matchup before beginning conference play in their new home, the Southern Athletic Association (SAA). Kickoff is set for Saturday, Sep. 27, at 5:00 p.m.
On the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor Crusaders: Although the Tigers and Crusaders did not meet during the 2024 season, the matchup is a very familiar one. The two programs have faced off against each other a total of nine times throughout the program's history, with the Tigers holding a dominant 8-1 record. That lone loss came in 2023, when the Crusaders earned their first victory in the series with a close 1-0 win. That loss marks the first time Trinity fell to the Crusaders, breaking the Tigers perfect record. With that loss still fresh, the Tigers will enter Saturday's contest with added motivation and drive. For Trinity, this game represents more than just another non-conference test. It will be an opportunity to restore their dominance in the series and build momentum heading into SAA play. Fans can expect a competitive matchup as the Tigers look to reinstate their winning streak and reaffirm their edge.
Looking Forward -
The following weekend, the Tigers will remain on the road as they travel to Georgia to open conference play. They will take on Oglethorpe University on Friday, Oct. 3, at 5:00 PM, before facing Berry University on Sunday, Oct. 5, also at 5:00 PM.
