CANTON, Ga. – Trinity University set a new standard for academic excellence in its first semester as a full Southern Athletic Association member, leading the league with 171 Fall 2025 Academic Honor Roll selections.
Trinity's total of 171 student-athletes recognized on the list is the most in school history for the fall semester, while the 984 total SAA selections across the league is also a new conference record. To qualify, student-athletes must have posted a minimum 3.25 GPA for the Fall 2025 semester and been a member of a conference-sponsored varsity sport. Those sports include men's cross country, women's cross country, football, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball.
The historic performance for Tiger student-athletes this fall wasn't confined to the classroom as all six fall sports teams also competed in the NCAA postseason. That led to Trinity finishing fifth in the Learfield Directors' Cup fall standings, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Teams score points based on their finish in the postseason, which for Trinity saw two teams reach the NCAA Semifinals and five total teams scoring for the first time in the same season since 2017.
Trinity had 63 football players, 25 women's soccer players, 23 men's soccer players, 22 women's cross country runners, 20 men's cross country runners, and 18 volleyball players recognized on the SAA Honor Roll. Of the eight full-time members of the SAA, five schools had more than 100 student-athletes recognized on this semester's list.
