Trinity and Johns Hopkins Enter Football Scheduling Agreement

SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University Football Head Coach Jerheme Urban has announced a scheduling partnership with Johns Hopkins University (MD) for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, which will mark the first meetings between two of the most successful programs in NCAA Division III over the past several seasons.

"On behalf of my staff, our young men, and our university, I would like to say that we are beyond excited for the opportunity to compete against such an incredible program in Johns Hopkins," said Coach Urban. "In a day and age where scheduling can be difficult, I want to thank both administrations for seeing the value in this series for our young men and their willingness to support this scheduling effort. I have really enjoyed getting to know Coach Wodicka throughout this process, and I will be honored to share the sidelines with him during this series."

The agreement will bring Johns Hopkins to Trinity at 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, September 18, 2027, then the Tigers will face the Blue Jays in Baltimore at 1:00 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, September 16, 2028.

Since the 2021 season, Trinity has made five straight appearances in the NCAA Playoffs and has won four Southern Athletic Association Championships. The Tigers have posted a record of 48-9 over the past five seasons and advanced to the Third Round of the 2025 NCAA Playoffs. Johns Hopkins has a record of 56-8 since 2021, making four trips to the NCAA Playoffs and reaching the NCAA Semifinals twice.
