San Antonio Texas – Trinity University's Men's and Women's Golf Teams will host and compete in the Carla Spenkoch Invitational at their home course, The Quarry Golf Course. 
 
Last Time
 
The Tiger Women finished runner up at the Texas Legends Cup in Kingsland, Texas. Erica Lee (Prosper, Texas / Prosper) took home the individual win with a four-under total, shooting a career low and tying for Trinity's one and two-day records. Mason Fikes (Dallas, Texas / Plano West) finished third individually with a final score of even par. With rounds of 75-69, Fikes beat her career low by three strokes. Jennie Dong (Fulshear, Texas / Jordan) joined Lee and Fikes with her career best score of two-under during round two of the tournament. Finishing with a two-over total, Dong posted strong consistent scores throughout the event. 
 
The Tiger Men finished T12 in the NCAA Division III Fall Preview in Williamsburg, Virginia, competing against a strong national field. Andre Follmer (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis) finished three-under for the event, carding scores of 75-65-70 to place T12 individually in the field. Jeffery Forster (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) posted scores of 68-73-71 to finish T22 for the event. Ethan Sullivan (Norfolk, Mass. / King Philip) rounded out the tournament with a seven-over total, carding nine birdies and twenty-nine pars throughout the event.

Scouting the Course: The Quarry Golf Course is in San Antonio, Texas, is continually rated the best course in San Antonio and was recently renovated in 2024. The greens were enhanced with Tiff 3D ultra dwarf bermudagrass and the layout of a few holes was tweaked. This par 71 course tips out at 6,740 yards and provides a nice challenge for players. No. 18 is a tough par 5 with a narrow tee shot and requires a very precise second shot between hazards on both the left and right. Hole 4 is a short par 4 with water on the right requiring a precise tee shot, but provides a good birdie opportunity. No. 12 is a demanding par 3 with a firm and narrow green where club selection is key.

Both teams will be heading to Golfweek October Classic in Destin, Florida on Sunday, October 18 through Tuesday, October 19.
