The Rundown
Neel Sandhu (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) was Trinity's standout in round two, carding a two-under-par 70 (-2) to sit T6 overall at even par. His 5 birdies today alongside his 2-under-par has meant Trinity remains just six shots back with it still all to play for. Sandhu also ranks tied for second in the field in total birdies with nine across both rounds and tied second for his par 3 scoring average at 2.88. Sandhu also went even during his first round with four birdies.
Carter Code (Calgary, Alberta, Canada / Manning) carded a one-under-par 71 (-1) in round two, moving to T17 overall at +5. Code leads the entire field in Par 5 scoring average across the tournament at 4.38 highlighting his length off the tee. It was a good second round for Code after going six-over during his first round.
Sam Rossi (Los Angeles, Calif. / Loyola) carded a one-over-par 73 (+1) in round two, sitting T3 overall at -1. Rossi recorded 4 birdies in the round and is T2 for par 3 scoring average after impressive birdies on the 3rd and 16th. An even par back nine has meant Rossi has elevated Trinity's position and also leaves him in contention for the individual top spot tomorrow. Rossi had a solid first round, going two-under during his first round, recording two birdies and ZERO bogeys.
Aiden Marlow (San Antonio, Texas / Churchill) carded a two-over-par 74 (+2) in round two, he is T6 overall at even par. Coming in at one-under-par allowed Marlow to make up for a difficult front nine and post a really positive score to ensure the Tigers have a chance tomorrow. Marlow has also performed exceptionally well on the par 4's, with an average of just 4.10, which is Trinity's best across both rounds.
Jeffrey Forster (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) carded a three-over-par 75 (+3) in round two, sitting T11 overall at +1. Forster ranks tied for tenth in the field in total pars with 23 across both rounds highlighting his elite consistency.
Brody Grieb (Bend, Ore. / Summit) carded a five-over-par 77 (+5) in round two, sitting 22nd overall at +8. Brody is tied seventh for the most birdies in the tournament thus far, with his strong offensive golf needed tomorrow to chase down the leaders.
Overall across both rounds, Trinity leads the field in Par 5 scoring at -21 and ranks first in Par 3 scoring at even par — the only team to be par or better in both categories. The Tigers have also recorded 41 birdies across the tournament, second only to Mary Hardin-Baylor's 43, demonstrating an attacking brand of golf that will need to be at its sharpest in the final round tomorrow.
Looking Ahead
