#12 Tiger Women's Tennis Dominates Hope

SAN ANTONIO – The 12th-ranked Trinity University Women's Tennis Team delivered another dominant performance on Thursday evening, sweeping No. 38 Hope College 7-0 at the Butch Newman Tennis Center.

The Tigers set the tone early in doubles play, with the nation's 8th-ranked pairing of Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) and Trinity Levy (Camarillo, California / Weil Tennis Academy) first off the court. The duo needed little time to establish control, cruising to a decisive 6-0 thumping at the #1 position.

Shortly after, Eva Kovachev (Arlington, Texas / The Oakridge School) and Allison Vo (Houston, Texas / Memorial) battled through a tight contest at #3 doubles, securing a 7-5 win to clinch the doubles point and give Trinity a 1-0 lead heading into singles. The pairing of Katie Schmidt (Prairie Village, Kansas / Shawnee Mission East) and Lauren Tin (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) completed the doubles sweep with a 7-5 victory at the #2 spot.

Trinity carried that momentum into singles play, where Schmidt was the first to finish at #5 with a strong 6-2, 6-2 win to extend the lead. Tin followed at #3 singles, pulling away in the second set for a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Levy added another point at #4 with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 result to clinch the match and push the Tigers closer to the sweep.

At the top of the lineup, 48th-ranked Kovachev delivered a composed 6-1, 6-4 win at #1 singles to keep Trinity firmly in control. Astrid Kerrman (Edina, Minnesota / Edina) followed with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at #6, and 28th-ranked Andrade closed out the match at #2 singles with a convincing 6-2, 6-1 performance to complete the 7-0 result.

With the victory, Trinity improves to 4-1 on the season while continuing its strong run at home with another complete performance across both doubles and singles.
