No. 9 Tiger Women's Tennis Make Lightwork Of Millsaps

Jackson, MS - The 9th-ranked Trinity University Women's Tennis Team rolled to a commanding 7-0 victory over Millsaps College on Sunday morning at the Coach Montgomery Courts, sweeping every available match without ever facing a serious challenge throughout the dual.

Trinity claimed the doubles point with little resistance. With Millsaps unable to field a full lineup, the Eva Kovachev (Arlington, Texas / The Oakridge School) and Allison Vo (Houston, Texas / Memorial) were awarded a default win at #3 to get things started. The 8th-ranked duo of Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) and Trinity Levy (Camarillo, California / Weil Tennis Academy) then took care of business at #1, handling McClain and Smith with a clean 6-2 victory to clinch the point. Katie Schmidt (Prairie Village, Kansas / Shawnee Mission East) and Lauren Tin (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) then closed out the doubles sweep at #2, dismissing Graham and Spinks 6-1 to give Trinity a comfortable 1-0 lead heading into singles.

The singles portion of the match was over almost as quickly as it began.

With Millsaps again short on players, both Schmidt and Vo were awarded default wins at both #5 and #6 respectively to immediately push the lead to 3-0. Tin at #2 was then the first to finish on the court, delivering a crisp 6-1, 6-0 victory over Smith to clinch the team victory and make it 4-0. Levy at #3 kept the momentum going with a sharp 6-1, 6-1 win over Spinks to extend her undefeated season to 15 wins, while Astrid Kerrman (Edina, Minnesota / Edina) at #4 was equally dominant, cruising past Graham 6-0, 6-1 to push the margin to 6-0.

No. 28 Andrade capped the sweep at #1, closing out McClain with a polished 6-0, 6-1 performance to complete the 7-0 victory without dropping a single set.

It was as thorough a performance as Trinity could ask for. They were efficient in doubles, dominant across every contested singles match, and relentless from first to last ball. The Tigers continue to look like one of the nation's top programs as they head into their final SAA regular season match of the year.
