SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Trinity Baseball falls to nationally-ranked Rhodes College in game one of Southern Athletic Association (SAA) series.
The Tigers (21-14, 12-4 SAA) fell 9-3 to Rhodes in game one. Will Baker (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) tallied two hits in three at bats with a run scored. Mattias Rytting (Houston, Texas / Bellaire) also collected a hit to go along with two RBIs.
The Rundown
Rhodes opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning, but Trinity answered in the bottom half. Michael Lustina (Austin, Texas / Westlake) drew a two-out walk, and John Ramsey (Austin, Texas / Westwood) followed with an RBI double down the left-field line to bring Lustina home and cut the deficit to 2-1.
After Rhodes added another run in the third, Trinity responded again in the bottom of the inning. Will Baker walked and stole second before Grant Anderson (Austin, Texas / Vista Ridge) also worked a walk. Sawyer Haynes (Waco, Texas / Midway) was then hit by a pitch to load the bases, and Mattias Rytting delivered the big swing for the Tigers with a two-run single through the left side, scoring Baker and Anderson to tie the game at 3-3.
Rhodes reclaimed control with four runs in the fifth, then added single runs in the seventh and ninth to pull away. Trinity was held scoreless over the final six innings.

The Tigers will look to take two games in the doubleheader against Rhodes tomorrow with game time set for 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
