Scouting the Course: The Old Course at White Bluff Resort in Whitney, Texas provides scenic and difficult holes that demand strategic shots and accuracy off the tee. The Old Course was recently recognized by Golf Pass as the #2 public course in the State of Texas. The course tips out at 6,866 yards, with a slope of 75.0, and is par 72. The back nine is highlighted by views of Lake Whitney and has several holes with elevation changes. Hole 12 is difficult because it plays uphill and requires a tee shot to carry water. No. 13 is a signature hole, a par 3 that overlooks a ravine, the lake, and introduces the creek that impacts play on the next few holes. Hole 14 requires an accurate tee shot in order to get around the corner of the dog-leg, and the green is protected by a creek, the second shot cannot be short.
