Trinity Volleyball Earns AVCA Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Trinity University volleyball team has received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, recognizing the program's commitment to academic excellence during the 2025–26 academic year.

The award celebrates collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Trinity joins a group of more than 1,400 programs nationwide that earned the distinction this year. The AVCA Team Academic Award has recognized academic achievement in volleyball since 1992.

This is the seventh consecutive year - and 10th overall - that Trinity has been recognized for this academic achievement with the AVCA. The Tigers received the award for the first time in 2009, then notched back-to-back honors in 2013 and 2014, and the current streak began in 2020.

Trinity finished the 2025 season with a 26-6 overall record that included a 13-1 Southern Athletic Association record to win the Regular Season Championship. The Tigers qualified for the NCAA Playoffs for the 30th in 41 seasons under Head Coach Julie Jenkins, advancing to the NCAA Semifinals for the fifth time in school history. Trinity finished the 2025 season ranked fourth in the AVCA Division III poll.
