No. 15 Tiger Men's Golf Travels to Williamsburg, Virginia for NCAA Fall Preview

The Tiger men started their fall season on a high note with a runner up finish at the Transylvania Fall Invitational, held at the Big Blue Course of The University Club of Kentucky. With a -19 three-round total, two school records have been set. The Tigers have a record low team round -12, carded in the first round of the event, and record low tournament round of -19. With two records broken within the first event of the season, the Tigers are undeniably off to a strong start in their fall season. Jeffery Forster (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) led the Tigers individually with a T4 finish, carding scores of 66-74-69. Rounding out the top ten individual scores, Andre Follmer (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis) secured a five-under total (70-67-73). Ethan Sullivan (Norfolk, Mass. / King Philip) was dependable throughout the event, finishing with a two-under total (70-72-72).

Forster earned Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Athlete of the Week for his strong play at the Transylvania Fall Invitational.

Scouting the Course:The River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, delivers a championship-level challenge amid stunning views of the James River. Rated at 74.2, the Pete Dye design tests golfers with tight landing areas, undulating greens, and strategic bunkering. The front nine requires precise shot-making, with tree-lined fairways and subtle elevation changes. The back nine, highlighted by the dramatic riverfront stretch, introduces even more difficulty, particularly on holes 16-18, where wind and water come heavily into play. Hole 17 stands out — a par 3 over water that demands a perfectly struck iron to hold a small, sloped green. Meanwhile, hole 18, a tough par 4 along the river, tests players' nerves with its narrow fairway and protected green.
 
The Plantation Course offers a more forgiving yet still engaging experience, with wide fairways, gentle elevation shifts, and a relaxed pace. Rated at 71.7, the Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay design favors strategy over power. The front nine emphasizes placement, with doglegs and fairway bunkers shaping shot choices. The back nine opens up slightly but features water hazards and well-protected greens. Hole 8 is notable, a par 3 guarded by deep bunkers requiring precision on the tee shot, while hole 14, a reachable par 5, tempts aggressive play but punishes poor execution with water and trees near the green.
