WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Trinity University's Men's Golf Team teed off at NCAA Division 3 Fall Preview at Kingsmill Resort River Course, closing the first day in a tie for 16th place at +11 after two rounds.
The par-71 layout stretched 6,667 yards and had a field scoring average of 72.27. With a clearly challenging course, the Tigers fought hard, leading them to finish their second round at five strokes better than round one.
Andre Follmer (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis) led the Tigers with a two-under total (75-65) over his first two rounds. He carded seven birdies for the day, putting him in 24th through the field of 90. Follmer's second round was notably important for the Tigers, as he finished with a bogey-free six-under.
Jeffrey Forster (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) sits at a one-under total (68-72), putting him at T25. Forster's first two rounds were highlighted with four birdies and an eagle.
Ethan Sullivan (Norfolk, Mass. / King Philip) is T34 going into the final round, finishing day one at one-over (72-71). He carded six birdies for the day, showing out with a solid three-under 33 to start round one.
Sam Rossi (Los Angeles, Calif. Loyola) finished day one at +15 and
Brody Grieb (Bend, Ore. / Summit) is +17 going into round 3.
