Rahul Champaneri joined the Trinity University baseball coaching staff for the 2025-26 school year. A rising coaching talent with a strong foundation in player development, data-driven instruction, and sports psychology, Champaneri brings experience across NCAA programs and a proven commitment to helping student-athletes grow on and off the field.
Champaneri joined the Tigers after serving as an Assistant Baseball Coach at both Southwestern University in 2025. He played an active part in pitcher development, player evaluation, and individualized training design. His coaching approach blends analytics, video technology, and hands-on instruction – ranging from mechanical adjustments to mental performance strategies – allowing him to connect effectively with athletes at all stages of development.
At Trinity, Champaneri has contributed to performance analysis, depth chart planning, and specialized baserunning instruction, integrating technology such as video breakdown tools and data-tracking systems to enhance player growth. His background in Experimental Sport Psychology—gained through a research-focused internship with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor—adds a unique dimension to his coaching, emphasizing mental resilience, confidence, and on-field decision-making.
A former collegiate standout himself, Champaneri played baseball at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he earned First Team Academic All-Conference and Second Team Athletic All-Conference honors. He complements his athletic experience with academic achievement, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Sports Management from Liberty University.
