Shawn Hamilton enters his second season as the Volunteer Assistant Coach as the 2023-24 season gets underway. Coach Hamilton joined the Trinity Men's Basketball coaching staff ahead of the 2022-23 season, tasked with opponent scouting and film preparation, workout development and post-game analysis under the direction of Head Coach Jimmy Smith.
Hamilton came to Trinity after spending the 2021-22 season with the Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate for the Milwaukee Bucks as a player development assistant, participating in live drills, scouting efforts and film compilation.
The professional experience began for Shawn as an intern for player development with the Dallas Mavericks during the 2019-20 campaign.Â
Hamilton is a 2019 graduate of Texas Lutheran University, where he was a four-year member of the Bulldog's men's basketball program that earned three trips to the NCAA III Men's Basketball Championship through a trio of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships from 2015-2019, including the final season of Coach Smith's tenure in Seguin for 2015-16.
The 2018-19 All-SCAC Championship tournament selection graduated from Texas Lutheran as a three-time Dean's List honoree with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus in Sports and Fitness Management and a minor in Business Administration.Â
