Thomas Orr brings over a decade of collegiate coaching experience to the Trinity University men’s basketball program. A proven leader and strategist, Coach Orr has served in key roles across multiple NCAA Division III programs, consistently contributing to championship-level success and player development.
Orr earned his Master of Business Administration in Sports Management from Franklin Pierce University and holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Business and Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he was also a standout player and leading scorer on a team that competed in the NCAA Division III National Championship game.
Throughout his career, Orr has held positions at Howard Payne University, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, University of the Ozarks, and Texas Lutheran University, where he specialized in implementing defensive schemes, teaching offensive fundamentals, and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the court. His responsibilities have included recruiting top high school and junior college talent, managing program budgets, coordinating community service initiatives, and overseeing academic success—helping teams maintain GPAs above 3.0.
