Box Score Seguin, Texas - The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs
rallied from a two-run deficit to beat the 12th-ranked Trinity
Tigers 6-2 Wednesday afternoon at Katt-Isbel Field.
Trinity now stands at 19-4, and Texas Lutheran upped its record to
13-8. The two teams will meet again March 29 at the Trinity
Baseball Field.
Tiger senior catcher Kyle Felix became Trinity's all-time leader in
doubles, with 60 in his career. Felix, who batted 1-4, cracked the
record-breaking double in the third inning, scoring senior
outfielder Kevin Jackson for the Tigers first run.
Trinity's second run came in the fourth inning on an RBI single by
senior infielder Dominick Robusto. Sophomore infielder Jonathan
Hall crossed the plate as the Tigers led 2-0. Hall batted 2-4,
scored one run, and stole two bases.
The Bulldogs then produced five runs in the bottom of the fourth
inning, on two hits and one Trinity error to take the lead.
First-year right-hander Matthew Tindall (0-1) was the Trinity
starter andtook the loss.
The five Tiger pitchers allowed four earned runs, four hits and
five walks. Texas Lutheran committed three errors in the game.
Both of Trinity's runs were earned, and the Tigers had six hits and
two errors.
The defending Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tigers (7-2
SCAC) continue their campaign in a three-game series Saturday and
Sunday at Sherman, Texas, with Austin College. Saturday's
doubleheader starts at 1 p.m., and Sunday's single game begins at 1
p.m.
