Box Score Irving, Texas - The Tiger baseball team began
its final weekend of the regular season with a 5-4 loss at the
University of Dallas on Saturday afternoon.
Trinity (29-10) fell behind early after Dallas scored three
times in the first inning. The Tiger offense came to life in
the seventh, scoring on a Kevin Calbick solo home run to make it
4-1. After another run by Dallas in the bottom of the
seventh, Trinity had a three-run eighth to make it 5-4.
Nick Pappas had a two-RBI single in the eighth, which was his
only hit of the game. The Trinity offense was held to just
five total hits in the game. Kevin Jackson was 1-3 with one
run and one RBI, as well as drawing his 34th walk of the
season.
Ben Klimesh fell to 9-2 on the season, after giving up the
three-run first inning. Franklin Bay struck out four batters
in four innings of relief.
Trinity and Dallas finish off the two-game weekend series
tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. The game will be Trinity's final
contest of the regular season in 2011. The Tigers are the
West's top seed in the SCAC Championships Tournament, which begins
April 21 in Millington, Tennessee.
